We were lucky enough to work on this beautiful manor house in the Hertford countryside. We were ever respectful of the existing stately architecture such as the jaw dropping two columned porch added by Sir John Soane in the 19th century based on his original designs for the bank of England. Mick Jagger and Jimi Hendrix all partied in this house back in the sixties and it is said that Maggie May was written here by a very young Rod Stewart.
Our brief was to bring midcentury modern style to this large scale living space whilst making sure the family of five could feel at home in rooms with such high proportions.
